Chapman Stickels’ head office is situated in the historic market town of Hadleigh in one of its most iconic buildings, the Corn Exchange. Originally built in 1813, it underwent a full restoration in 1895. The building (which is Grade II Listed) had a variety of uses during its many years, sadly being largely unoccupied in more recent times. In 2019 we decided to make the building our main offices, and head office, embarking on a 6-month renovation programme, carefully preserving its unique heritage whilst updating it to provide a modern and dynamic place to work.
Robert has lived and worked in Suffolk most of his life and is a well-known and hugely respected figure in the local area, having been part of Roy Chapman & Sons, and latterly Carter Jonas. Having worked in horse racing in his early career he continues to follow his passion and can often be found at Higham Point to Point and Newmarket Races.
Robert is married to Sally and has two children Emma and Sam. Emma is the manager of Pump Gyms in Colchester and Sam is currently living and working in New Zealand.
Benedict was born and grew up in Suffolk and has worked for almost 20 years in Estate Agency, having managed Durrants in Diss for many years and then moving to Carter Jonas before founding Chapman Stickels. Benedict grew up in Polstead and surrounds and has a passion for the countryside and wildlife. Benedict is currently completing his RICS qualifications.
Cleo joined the team in late 2020, having worked together with Robert and Benedict previously at Carter Jonas. Cleo has been involved in Property and Estate Agency all of her working life. She juggles a busy work schedule with her three children, Max, Imogen, and Martha. Both Max (an exceptional sailor) and Imogen are at school at RHS. Cleo goes nowhere without Hector her loyal and occasionally obedient Cockapoo. Cleo will take over as Partner when Robert decides to work less!
Leanne joined the team in late 2022 and is our office administrator. Leanne lives in Hadleigh with her husband, 2 children and her lively cocker spaniel puppy Millee, who occasionally makes an appearance in the office. You may also see Leanne running local pub quizzes.
Jolyon joins Chapman Stickels having experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions, and commercial property management. Jolyon has two daughters, Lottie and Harriet, and is often in the office with his poorly behaved Basset hound, Monty.
Harriet is the newest member of Chapman Stickels and has recently returned to Suffolk from Lancaster, where she completed her Master’s Degree. She particularly enjoys running the company’s social media platforms, and is occasionally accompanied by her basset hound Monty.
Recently returning to the UK, Donna brings to The Letting Department a wealth of international experience. Adding this to her background in the legal sector; Donna’s organisational skills and attention to detail when dealing with both Landlords and Tenants sets The Letting Department apart. Donna is passionate about ensuring that Landords and Tenants can rely on The Letting Department for all their housing requirements.
Adrian has lived and worked in Suffolk most of his life, and works independently from Chapman Stickels’ offices, helping the team with advice for our clients, as well as providing independent mortgage advice. Adrian is a partner with John Charcol Mortgage Brokers.
Hector works 5 days a week and the occasional Saturday. He also juggles a busy work schedule with the demands of pining for Cleo when on appointments, as well as relentlessly chasing a toy reindeer around the office, much to the annoyance of Robert.
